Frequently asked questions

For what type of candidates does your firm recruit and in what industries?
These days we are primary focus is helping our clients find and secure leadership talent at the Director and Vice President Level in Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Operations and Administration. Our industry expertise is Semiconductor, Computer, Storage, Networking, Electro-Mechanical, Automation.

Does your firm work on Retainer, Contingency or both?
We are primarily a retained search firm, although we differ from many retained firms in how we structure our fees. With a broad level of experience, we believe the best, most fair approach to helping our clients is through a hybrid fee structure, which is part retainer, part contingency. This gives our clients the assurance that we are properly motivated to find the best, in the most expeditious manner. This differs from many larger named search firms which many times present less than stellar candidates, takes much longer to run their process, offer much weaker guarantees and still collects full fee despite not always placing.

Do you feel you are capable to find candidates in industries that your expertise does not include at this point?
Absolutely! The basic principals of effective recruiting never really change, regardless of the industry. As long as your resource capability can quickly identify special talent, then there should be no difficulty. Due to the cyclical nature of high technology, we have transition to areas where our services were in greater demand a number of times, and we have done it very successfully.

How long has your company been in business?
We were established in August of 2006, however we are a network of long-established, reputable search consultants with a successful track record second to none, serving the hiring needs of High Technology Companies since 1980.

What makes your search firm any different than any other high technology firm?
We believe that we are the very best in search. With 30 years of successful placements under our belts in a multitude of disciplines and technology sectors, we know that we are the Experts. This equates to giving you, the customer, a more satisfying experience and the very best candidates, suited for your particular situation, to select from.

Do you ever turn business away?
Yes. There are some situations which we feel we cannot adequately address or wish not to develop a client relationship with. We do have a limited bandwidth and our policy is to only take searches on where we believe we can be successful .

How quickly can we begin to see candidates?
There really is not an honest answer to this question based on many variables which might be out of our control. However, from our 30 years of experience, we believe that once we have gathered all pertinent information, signed off on our agreement to work with each other, we should begin then, to show screened candidates, sometime within the first 30 days. By the end of 60 days we would normally have between 3-5 or more, high caliber screened candidates for our clients to interview with.

Do you work with candidates that are actively looking or just passive candidates?
We work with both types of candidates because we do not prejudice ourselves in thinking that if a candidate is an active candidate, they are any less quality than the passive candidate. There are pluses and minuses to each, but are goal is to insure that they very best are made available to our clients.

How extensive is your screening of candidates?
We have learned over the years that much effort needs to be applied in this part of the process. We conduct two forms of screening interviews. The first is our pre-screen, which is generally done over the phone. We generally spend at least 1 hour if not longer in our pre-screen that really gives us a strong feel for the candidates capability, communication style, and true level of motivation. If the candidate passes our pre-screen, we then meet with them in person to evaluate their presence, style, corporate culture considerations as well as much more. This will take another hour, minimum. Generally when we present our candidates, we have spent between 2-3 hours one on one.

What does your candidate evaluation analysis generally describe?
This is our total evaluation of each and every candidate that we are willing to submit. This helps the hiring authority get a very strong understanding as to all the key issues, pluses/minuses, so that there are no hidden surprises for the hiring manager. We believe that no other firm goes to this extent that we do in presenting a completely transparent view of each and every candidate. This is one reason we are willing to offer the best guarantee in the industry, because of this total comprehensive approach.
